| Monday, June 20, 2011 : KoA Changes |
tayluca |
|
KoA has had a long and rich history as a World of Warcraft guild for nearly five years. Our game of choice for these many years has been World of Warcraft with a few sub-groups of gamers playing together in other games. Due to recent and ongoing events in the lives of our leadership as well as the changing dynamics of World of Warcraft, we have decided to make some changes in KoA. The changes are as follows:
[1] "Keeper Guild" or "Keepers" is an extension of this guild's rich heritage and will be a gaming community of working adults and their families. Our community will be available to current members and prospective members which we feel would be a good fit for our community and will be available for those members who are unable to play their game of choice at the moment but who will want to join us later in our current or future gaming experiences. The following changes or amendments are/will be affected: [a] This website will remain available until 01 February 2012 or until our new community website has been completed, whichever comes first. [b] Ventrilo will remain available for Keeper members and the same rules will apply. You may share our Ventrilo data only with individuals you are gaming with or who are members of Keepers. [c] Our Facebook page will be updated to reflect our new status and will remain available for our community members, but will also include relavent news from other games we feel our members are or will be interested in. [2] "Keepers of Azeroth", the World of Warcraft - Alliance Raiding Guild, will be changing it's status as "casual raiding guild" to "social gaming guild". This change will have the following consequences: [a] We will no longer be scheduling official raids. If we have volunteers who wish to schedule raids, we ask them to do so using the in-game calendar. Raiding will not, for the foreseeable future, be our in-game goal. All raid restrictions such as saving raid ids have been removed. [b] Membership in KoA will be contingent upon membership as a Keeper. We will update the guild application as needed but we are not actively recruiting at the moment. For now, if you have someone you think would be a good fit for KoA, please contact an officer for an invite. [c] We have promoted an additional officer, Rogar. He is a trustworthy member of our community and he fits all of the qualities we look for in an officer candidate. [d] We understand that many raiders will choose to move on to greener pastures (either on or off of the server) and we hold no hard feelings for those choosing to do so. We encourage our raiders to keep a toon in the guild if they wish and simply ask that you choose an alt to list as your "main" for organization purposes. In summary, we are in a state a flux but we are as excited about the future of KoA as we ever have been. We hope you decide to stay and grow with us as a community but we wish you the best of luck if you choose a different path. If you are in need a voucher, please contact me. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to reply to this post or contact me privately. |
