Keepers of Azeroth: Raid Sign-ups vs Raid Availability

Raid Sign-ups vs Raid Availability
Raid Availability
(click here to view) (click here to update)
- The raid availability page is used in the initial stages of planning raids. We use this to get an overall view of the strength of our guild's raiders. We ask that you only put the days/times that you are available AND willing to raid. It would be useless for us if we thought we had 30 people available to raid, scheduled a raid at a particular day/time, and found that we only had 15 people who honestly wanted to raid at those times.
- We realize that many people's schedules change due to RL or that some people may not know from day to day. If you cannot accurately put your available days/times, we ask that you make an educated guess to the best of your knowledge or do not put anything at all if that is not possible. We'd rather underestimate our number of raiders than schedule something that we cannot realistically accomplish.

Raid Calendar
- The raid calendar is the official list of anticipated raids and is the second step in raid planning. These are the days/times we have set up to run particular raids as a guild. If you are interested in raiding during that time, we ask that you sign up under appropriate area. If you know that you will be unavailable or will not wish to participate, we ask that you sign up stating that you will NOT be in attendance. This helps us with the planning process.

Some guidelines we ask you to follow when signing up for raids:

- There is a comment box - PLEASE USE IT - If you know you will be late, check the box and make a comment as to how late you may be. If you have to leave early, make a comment. If you recently changed specs and the sign-ups are not role based (more on that below) please make a note as to which spec/role you would like to fill. Please keep the comments box free of frivolous comments that are not pertinent to the raid in question.
- Raid signups end 30 minutes to 1 hour (depending on raid) prior to raid start time - PLAN ACCORDINGLY - We end signups so that the raid leader has some time prior to raid start to plan for replacements if we don't have enough, talk to class leaders to decide who to take on a raid if we have too many, etc. This isn't to make your life harder by rushing you to sign up. It's to make the raid leader's life easier by giving them some cushion time so we're not waiting for a raid to start due to attendance issues.
- Roles vs Class - Some raids are set up so that you sign up and your name is listed under the class of the toon you signed up for while some have "roles" set up prior such as Tank/Healer/MeleeDPS/RangedDPS. This is just another tool for the raid leader when planning raids. Please use your judgement when signing up for a raid. If you are a dps warrior, most likely you will be signing up for a melee dps slot. Please take a moment to use the drop down box to select the appropriate role. If you sign up under a particular class and are a hybrid class, have some courtesy and please help our raid leaders out by reminding them (via the comments box) which spec/role you might be filling. While we strive to be familiar with everyone's spec choices, it makes the process just a bit faster if we have that added reminder.

TO DO NOTES: Include detailed instructions on how to use both features.
