Keepers of Azeroth: Tips for Prospective Applicants

Tips for Prospective Applicants
If you're reading this, then you are possibly about to fill out an application for KoA. Below are some helpful tips for getting your application approved.

#1 Rule to know: Our application is a moron-filter. It's your first and sometimes only chance to show us that you would be a good fit in the guild. Treat it as such and take your time to prove you are not a moron.

Vouchers: We will ask you to list any possible vouchers you may have. We rely heavily on vouchers when making our decisions. A voucher can be a family member or real life friend that is currently a member, or it can be someone who you have grouped with or interacted with significantly who is currently a member. A voucher is NOT someone who you saw one day with a KoA guild tag over their head. Prior to making our decision, we will speak with any vouchers listed so it's important that if you list a voucher, you should be fairly certain that the person WILL vouch for you or it will be considered poor taste.

Age Limit: We have an age limit. We do sometimes waive this requirement but only when we have a VERY good reason to do so. Vouchers (see above) are the number one reason we *might* waive this requirement but are not guaranteed for waiver. Your gear alone will NOT lift this requirement, your experience alone will NOT lift this requirement, vouchers alone will NOT lift this requirement. We deny membership every day for very good friends of current members based on their maturity. Your responses to our application questions, your vouchers, our needs as a guild for your role/class/experience, these things together are what we base our decision on. We are much more strict on our younger applicants than we are our older ones so if you apply, be prepared to prove yourself mature enough. If you meet the age limit according to your application but your responses appear to have been written by a 12 year old, we will assume you are 12 years old and deny your application.

RTM: Read the manual - In this case we're talking about FULLY understanding our rules and regulations. We have many small things that set us apart from any other guild on Dentarg and we expect all new recruits to fully know and understand what these things are. There is no voucher strong enough that removes the requirement to follow our rules.

L33T Speak: DON'T DO IT! We are a mature guild and expect mature responses to our application questions. Take the time to check your spelling and grammar, and make sure that every question is answered fully and to the best of your knowledge. One question not FULLY answered is an automatic denial.

Have Fun: We're a fun group of people. We have some strict requirements for membership but once you're in, you're one of the guys/girls. We WANT to get to know you. Take some time in your application to tell us about yourself and why you would make a great addition to the guild. Anyone can say "i want to raid". If you haven't figured out yet that that's not all we're about, you might want to reconsider submitting your application.
